Some of your emails reminded us about the benefits of having so many friends who are professional writers...
Dear Cas,
Welcome to the world!
First, so proud you made it out all right. But the worst part of your journey is not over. Sadly, it is a child's duty during at least the first seventeen years of life to carefully raise its parents. This will take endless amounts of time, as they have no idea how to properly communicate with you, endless patience, since they learn very slowly, and endless amounts of unconditional love, as they will make several unreasonable demands on you as grow older.
I know John and Sarah, though, and I can state categorically that your parents are adorable and though they will awaken you at all hours (indeed, for all practical purposes, control your bedtime for years to come) it will all be worth it in the end. By the time you leave the nest, they will be fantastic parents, and you will be very happy that you invested good time in them.
One word of advice. Don't put to many expectations on your mom and dad during the first few weeks. They will make all kinds of weird noises, laugh and cry for no reason, and generally behave like a couple of wild-eyed, overwhelmed teenagers. Just nap a lot and, when possible, suddenly lift your hand and point to reassure them.
I can't wait to meet you! Let me know when you're receiving!
xoxo,
James
P.S. Phillip sends you all his love as well!
The Eagle Has Landed!
Below is the email we circulated to announce Casimir's birth back in December. Since then we've been updating the blog to make sure all of his fans can keep tabs on him. He doesn't twitter yet - but that's probably just around the corner.
We included Casimir's email address so that you could write to him directly. A number of people decided to email casimir directly and we have reprinted a few of those letters on the blog. Please send him an email if you are so inspired, we'll make sure he gets it.
Dear Friends,
Please join us in welcoming Casimir (“Caz”) Charles Kosinski.
He was born on Wednesday, December 17th at 12:57am.
The little tyke came in at a husky 9 lbs, and was over 21 inches long.
It was a long journey and an exciting adventure. Mom was strong and courageous throughout. Everyone is healthy, happy and content.
Mom, Dad and Baby Caz are resting and will not be taking phone calls for a little while as we all settle in. Pictures soon.
Thank you to everyone for the well wishes and support over the past weeks and months.
If you would like to email wishes of good cheer to Baby Caz, you can reach him at casimir.kosinski@gmail.com.
Love, Sarah Singer and John Kosinski

You're Here!
From one of Hollywood's most successful female screen and television writers . . . Our dear friend Mel has already said that she will cast Caz in her next major feature. He can't wait. The residuals will pay for his first year at Swarthmore.
Welcome to the world, Caz! I’m thrilled you’re here. Your choice in parents shows you to be a man of extraordinary taste. I have no doubt you’ll be an amazing asset to the world your parents have fought so hard to improve. My very best wishes to you and your family. Can’t wait to meet you!
Much love, your future friend, Mel

Sage Advice from a Sage Man
This letter to Caz is from our friend and comrade, Jeff. Jeff is a lifelong organizer and has dedicated his life to making people's lives better and lik any good organizer... he started recruiting Caz from his first correspondence.
Caz, you don’t yet know how lucky you are to be born to a wonderful mother and father, but I’m sure you will realize this as you grow. You kept them waiting a long time, but now that you’re here, the wait was worth it, and you made up for it by being a powerful little guy of nine pounds! Wow! A future union organizer, I predict, but whatever you want to be, with parents like yours, you have a good chance of achieving it. Please be a good baby and sleep at least four hours straight, get up and do your thing, then go back to sleep. Soon enough you will be cooing and giggling like a trooper. I can’t wait to meet you! Please send pictures soon.
Best, Jeff

Post from Uncle Peter
Peter is a great friend and a comedy writer. He knows Sarah and John very well as you can tell from his email to Caz.
Caz,
Welcome. Couple of things you should know. First, always listen to your Uncle Peter. Second, here's a little tip about arguing with your mother...when cornered she'll try and change the subject, don't let up. You'll still probably lose but this makes it more fun. Three, as soon as you have some money of your own, get your Dad the entire series of Three's Company on whatever format will exist when you finally have the dough. This way he'll let you borrow the hovercraft when you're a teenager. Finally, playing the drums may be fun but chicks dig the guitar player.

Post from Del
Short but sweet from our dear friend Del, past President of the Writers Guild and former writer for The Twilight Zone. This one made Sarah and John cry.
Welcome to the world. You will make it a better place. Love, your pal, Del Reisman

Post from the Ely Family
This post is from Sarah's Aunt Tammy, Uncle Larry and their two wonderful sons, Alex and Nick. Tammy and Larry live on the East Coast and enjoy Christmas Revels in Harvard Square.
Dear Caz,
How wonderful that you found your way into the world amongst loving parents and an extended family near and far who were waiting anxiously to hear of your arrival. We welcome you with warm hearts and best wishes and marvel that you are a day old and have your own email address already!
From some of us far away we are sending off a little package to you in care of your parents in this season of blessings and celebration. As you get a little older, we will send more practical gifts for you to enjoy. For now, I hope you spend lots of time peacefully sleeping so your parents can do the same!
Love from Tammy, Larry, Nick and Alex

Letter from Aunt Donna
This is from John's sister, Donna. She miraculously has six children and a spotless house.
Caz,
Welcome to the world from all of the McGonigle’s. I know there are a lot of them, but you will know all of their names soon enough. Let me list them out for you, because sometimes your Daddy gets them confused: A.J., Sarah, Ally, Danielle, Julia, and Brayden.
You don’t know it yet, but I am your” Favorite” Aunt Donna. Wait and see, you will ask to spend the night at Uncle Teddy and Aunt Donna’s house whenever you are on the East Coast! If you are in trouble with Mommy and Daddy you will come to me to get you out of trouble, just like your Daddy did!!! Oh yes, and don’t forget Uncle Teddy, he will always make your visits to the East Coast the most fun, just ask your cousin Ryan about toad hunting and smores parties. Last but not least when you ask for a pet and Mommy and Daddy say not right now, I will make sure you have it, even if it requires a stable.
I hope to meet you soon. We are so happy that you are here, happy and healthy!
Love,
Aunt Donna
